About 252 million people worldwide are unaware they have diabetes. When you read this, don’t be surprised—diabetes often has no obvious symptoms in its early stages. Another reason is the lack of regular health check-ups. Many people assume they are healthy and won’t develop diabetes, but the reality is quite the opposite.
A colleague of mine lived and worked just like any healthy person, with almost no noticeable differences. Only after a routine medical check-up at the hospital did he discover he had diabetes. By the time you find out you have it, the condition may have already been quietly developing in your body for a long time—just like my colleague, who laughed and joked with us every day, only to feel deeply upset once diagnosed.
After saying all this, my point is simple: don’t overlook regular health screenings.
