Six Symptoms of Diabetic Kidney Disease

There are six common symptoms of diabetic kidney disease worth noting:

1.ProteinuriaIn
early-stage diabetic kidney disease, there is no clinical proteinuria, and only radioimmunoassay can detect microalbuminuria. The only manifestation of early clinical diabetic kidney disease is proteinuria, which gradually develops from intermittent to persistent.
2.Hypertension
The prevalence of hypertension in type 1 diabetic patients without nephropathy is not higher than that in normal people. Type 2 diabetic patients often have hypertension, and the rate of hypertension increases when proteinuria occurs. Patients with nephrotic syndrome usually have hypertension, which is mostly moderate and a few are severe.
3.Renal Failure
The progression rate of diabetic kidney disease varies greatly. Some patients may have mild proteinuria for many years with normal renal function, while others have very little urinary protein.

4.Edema
Generally, there is no edema in the early stage of clinical diabetic kidney disease. A small number of patients may have mild edema before plasma protein decreases. Severe edema due to massive proteinuria and low plasma protein is mostly a sign of advanced disease.
5.Anemia
Patients with significant azotemia may develop mild anemia.
6.Manifestations of Complications in Other Organs
Such as heart failure, myocardial infarction, neuropathy, retinopathy, etc.
